Alexander technique
F M Alexander (1869 – 1955)
The Alexander Technique developed by a Shakespearean actor, Frederick Matthias Alexander, or as usually referred to, F. M. Alexander, at the turn of the 20th century.

The study of the Alexander Technique has students examine their habits of movement and being or use. They are encouraged to learn to inhibit habitual reactions and allow the body’s innate wisdom to engage which gives a sense of ease in performing everyday activities and being fully present in everything you do.
Study of the technique also includes some basic anatomy, which serves to prove how what you think
about how your body works affects how you move. It also shows how having the body in dynamic balance allows the body to best utilize the postural reflexes, which give a sense of ease to both posture and movement.
Teachers of the Alexander Technique will employ exercises to bring awareness of anatomy and postural habits. They may also use their hands to give physical prompts to the words they use. The hands speak to the body where the words speak to the mind. The technique aims towards connecting the mind and body for more conscious choices for movement.

Ground work clinics

In the ground work course, you willlearn how to use a long rope and/or, weather permitting, a round pen, you will learn to see the horse as a whole and understand the horse’s biomechanics and behavior. You learn how to get your horse to encounter different, maybe scary things and thus get a more reliable horse. The courses are 1-2 days long and you can also participate with your own horse.

Themedays

The theme days are intended for small groups such as clubs and groups of friends (not bachelor parties). Group size 1-20 people or by agreement. The theme is agreed upon with the group and it can be, for example, horse behavior, ground work, centered riding, equipment or any other interesting subject related to horses. The day includes morning coffees, lunch and daytime coffees in addition to working with the horses. It can also be done over a few hours or an evening.
